“Made from premium green tea, our Silk Dragon is a limited-edition treasure. To create it, night-blooming jasmine is gathered in the morning and kept cool all day. In the evening, when the flowers burst open and release their scent, they are placed with the tea until midnight. This is repeated with fresh flowers over the course of five nights, infusing the tea with a most magical flavour.”

Ingredients: Chinese green tea from Jiangxi and Fujian Provinces, scented with jasmine flowers.

Caffeine level: 2 – Medium.

Suggested Steep:

My Steep: Hot with sugar.

review-illustratorI grabbed 2 oz of this tea as a great perk-me-up for work. I love jasmine, and the green tea has a lot of caffeine in it, so it was perfect. Unfortunately I drank it all before I was able to write a review with it, so this will be a simple one from memory!

This tea was great for a little extra energy in the morning. The taste was nice and crisp; an excellent flavor of green tea, with the added loveliness of jasmine mixed in. I loved its simplicity, and the calm flavor that was easy to drink in the morning. I definitely should pick up some more of this soon, as the caffeine did help get the morning started!

“Definitely one of our favorite teas, Bloodberry combines black tea with so much berry that it seems to bleed with flavor. Not only does it make an amazing cup of tea, but Bloodberry can also be used to infuse your rum to create a sweet rum that can be sipped straight up from the flask with ease.”

Ingredients: Black tea, hibiscus, blueberries, cranberries, orange peel, raspberry, blackberry, dried apple.

Suggested Steep: n/a

My Steep: Hot with sugar.

review-illustratorWhen I visit Spice Traders at Ren Faire, they have samples of all their teas on display, so you can smell them all, and I swear I smell almost all of them every year. I was immediately drawn to how fruity and deep scented this tea is! All of the yummy fruits blend together into a sweet smelling feast.

The black tea scent comes to the forefront while brewing, and the berries settle in within it. I can’t say there’s a particular berry that smells stronger than the others, as they’re all in the same family and intermix well together.

The color is quite pretty, a deep red, not quite blood but close. It’s fruity and sweet, just how I like my cup! The fruits hit your tongue initially and strongly, followed by a lovely calm aftertaste of black tea, with the fruity taste still lingering. I’d say this tea tastes more like a fruit infusion than a tea, but it’s absolutely delicious. I’m glad I picked this one up!
